Gorgeous Orange County Wedding at The Waldorf Astoria, Monarch Beach

Liz and Terry had been together for 10 years before they said “I do,” so their Orange County wedding was highly anticipated with their friends and family. With their Egyptian and Greek families coming together, we knew it was going to be a wedding for the books. It was definitely a night to remember for the lovebirds, their family, and even me as their wedding planner!

After finding me on The Knot, Liz, Terry, and I hit it off immediately. I love starting out every client relationship with a zoom call. It’s a great way to get to know one another when you can see each other - mannerisms, personality, and just that overall face-to-face connection. Things moved pretty quickly after the call and they booked with me and we got on to the wedding venue tours.

On the venue tours, I got to know both of their parents and we all bonded over being witty and sarcastic. It was so easy to have great conversations with everyone! It’s very important to me that I get to know my couples well so I can be sure I can make their wedding day perfect for them.

After a few changes from the original plan, we ended up at The Waldorf Astoria, Monarch Beach. This Orange County wedding venue is unmatched! Liz and Terry wanted to be overlooking the ocean, and this venue gave them exactly that. The view at the Waldorf is arguably one of the best uses of green and ocean in Orange County.

The staff at the Waldorf is incredible and the whole events team was so easy to work with. Everything works smoother when the venue team and my team are on the same page, and they really made sure to include us in every part. Not all venues are able to have this kind of collaboration, so it really stands out when a wedding venue can make this happen!

This Orange County wedding went off without a hitch.

From one part of the event to another, both my team and the Waldorf team had everything under control. Liz and Terry were able to enjoy every moment, including some fun touches like arcade games and two different photo booths! It wasn’t just the couple and their guests who enjoyed them, Chrissy Metz from This Is Us ended up in the photo booth at one point! She was staying at the hotel and was a welcomed wedding crasher. Such a fun memory for Liz and Terry!

Liz and Terry are some of the kindest people I’ve ever worked with. They always made sure to include me and make me feel welcome, and their thank you hugs at the end of the night will stick with me forever! I remember those long, big, sweaty hugs vividly - they meant so much to me!
